Emile AtigakuDirector of the NGO PADIE

    Emile Atigaku has a Master’s degree in Sociology with a specialization in Politics, Gender, Local Development and Territorial Planning; a Master’s degree in Sociology of Information and Communication from the University of Lomé and a Certificate in “Project Management for Development Professionals” (PMD-Pro) from APM Group Limited in England.  He is currently working on a PhD in urban governance, particularly in the water sector, at the Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Cities in Africa at the University of Lomé (CERVIDA-DOUNEDON/Univesrité de Lomé).

    After a career of more than nighteen (19) years in the world of NGOs and Associations of international solidarity, Emile is now the director of the NGO PADIE (Pioneers in Action for the Integrated Development in the Environment) and the Chairman of the Board of the CCEABT (Concertation Council for Water and Basic Sanitation in Togo). He is also the the Civil Societies Focal Point in Togo for of CoM SSA for the Togolese Civil Societies (Covenant of Mayors in Sub-Saharan Africa). In this frame, PADIE provides support to more than 80 Togolese Mayors and municipalities in order to disseminate climate, water and sanitation good practices and facilitate the use of its tools.
