Dr Paul Heithersay leads the South Australian Department for Energy and Mining, one of the few departments globally that recognises the link between mining and renewable energy.

Dr Heithersay’s focus is to build on South Australia’s renown for world-class resources and global leadership in renewable energy as the state turns its focus to growing a hydrogen sector and decarbonising industry.
Before joining the South Australian government 20 years ago, Dr Heithersay worked over 20 years in the mining industry across Australia, Southeast Asia and China for North Ltd, and its predecessor Geopeko.
