    Tabaré A. Currás is an international sustainability expert with 15 years of combined experience in energy and climate strategy, policy, and economics. He has worked as an advisor or consultant to multiple international organizations, committees, working groups, and agencies of the United Nations system. In the past, Tabaré has been designated as Party, non-Party and Observer Delegate in different forums such as the conferences, assemblies and negotiation rounds of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA ), the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), among others. He has been widely consulted by different media on climate and energy issues in America and Europe. He has participated in more than thirty international summits and contributed as an author, co-author or reviewer in various scientific and popular publications. Tabaré has a degree in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from the Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP) in an extended program with the Royal Melbourne Institute of Engineering (RMIT). In addition, he has a Master of Science in Sustainable Development, from the University of Utrecht (UU). He has also completed specialist extended education studies in the areas of climate finance and renewable energy at the Frankfurt School-UNEP Collaborating Center for Climate Finance and Sustainable Energy.
